Speech to the École freudienne de Paris on the Proposition : 6th December 1967 : Jacques Lacan

by Julia Evans on December 6, 1967

Comments following ‘Proposal of 9th October 1967
on the psychoanalyst of the School’: Jacques Lacan : Notes, information and translations here

The proposition of Jacques Lacan dated 9th October 1967 having given rise to the demonstrations of opinion which it sought and which were recorded on tape, Jacques Lacan in response delivered on 6th December 1967 a speech which was published in the form below in Scilicet 2/3, pp. 9‐29. Dotted lines on page 24 mark the separation between the re‐ writing of the speech of 6th December 1967 and a follow‐up dated 1st October 1970 (this date is probably also that of the re‐writing).

p18 of Anthony Chadwick’s translation,  Donald Winnicott  “On Transference”, IJP, October 1956, No. IV‐V, pp. 386‐388. An article that I introduced 29 November 1967 to indicate how the author picks out a privileged object from his experience, to qualify it as “a false self”, only by excluding his manoeuver from the analytical function such as he situates it. Well, he articulates that object only from the primary process, taken from Freud. I uncover there the lapsus of the psychoanalytical act.
