This is the meeting at which Jacques Lacan was barred from practicing by the IPA :
Quote : 4. The Central Executive Committee considers that Dr. Lacan cannot any longer be accepted as a training analyst for the Study Group, and that the Edinburgh Requirement that he be progressively withdrawn from training needs to be strictly defined and enforced.

Quote : P533 .being given a bias so that pro-Lacan elements are being pushed forward, and in this way the Requirements would be defeated. We have been left with the uneasy impression that whist in general the Requirements are being enforced, it is with this twist. There is a feeling that they should not apply to Lacan : he is worthy of exception.
